Senior Engineer - Towing and Carrying - £34/hr (Inside IR35) - Warwickshire (Hybrid potential)

Duties:
Working in the growing Towing and Carrying team within the Vehicle Capability and Dependability department, the aim of the senior towing and carrying engineer role is to ensure efficient delivery of automotive products that meet or exceed all customer expectations for Towing and Carrying performance. Following system engineering principles, this is achieved through attribute target setting, requirement decomposition and verification and validation sign off using both virtual and physical test methods. To ensure optimum design and delivery the role will strive to continuously improve processes, methods and solutions.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Ownership, management, validation and development of a number of vehicle level towing and carrying requirements and targets
- Ensure robust SMART requirements and targets are cascaded and accepted within all relevant engineering teams including function groups, system and component teams
- Champion through systems engineering principles the development, integration and design verification (DV) plans to ensure accumulating evidence through vehicle programme to ensure delivery of vehicle sign off on-time to requirements. 
- Ensure clear status for towing attribute across all programme panel charts
- Ensure zero towing issues at programme job 1
- Support the development of towing and carrying features and designs for future vehicle solutions
- Conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices, industry movements and future trends
- Ensure robust championing and closeout prevent recurrence actions

Skills:
- Prior Automotive experience within a product delivery role
- Experience in towing trailers and using trailer towing hardware
- Knowledge/experience of automotive technologies or systems
- Knowledge/experience of engineering test activities

Desirable Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience in Features development, delivery and validation
- Experience in vehicle level Towing & Carrying development, testing and validation
- Knowledge/Experience of AGILE working principles
- Working knowledge CAD visualisation systems (e.g. 3Dx, TeamCentre etc.)
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred

Education:
- Broad knowledge of vehicle and towing technologies
- Project management of complex automotive engineering test activities
- Understanding of Systems engineering principles and delivery
- Knowledge of whole vehicle engineering and cross functional experience
- Microsoft package elements Power Point and Excel

Position Description:
Senior Functional Safety Engineer
Lead functional safety activities across the software organization to design safety into platform software

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Delivery of functional safety from systems/features within ADAS across the range of client vehicles.
- Assist and contribute to the generation of targets and verification methods that are driven by Functional Safety Analysis in Technical and Software Safety Requirements
- Lead Functional Safety Architecture activities across SW to deliver safe platforms
- Lead Functional Safety activities across Architecture Application SW
- Work with Technical Specialists and Function Forward Strategies, including new Function Definition to their Safety Case release.
- Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.

Skills Required:
- Software Requirements and Architecture
- Functional Safety (ISO26262) experience at Software level
- SW Functional Safety Analyses (FMEA, FTA, DFA)

Experience Required:
- Extensive experience in Automotive Functional Safety development for ASIL B SW Architecture.
- A-SPICE
- MISRA
- C/C++

Experience Preferred:
- AUTOSAR ASW/BSW,
- MBSE,
- Verification Review, Confirmation Reviews
