NVH Modal test engineer - £27.21/hr (Inside IR35) – Warwickshire – 8 Months (potential for yearly renewal)

Duties:
Measurement, analysis and reporting of vehicle, system and component modal performance status to meet key gateway requirements. Responsible for lab-based transfer function measurement to support NVH attribute needs and NVH issue investigation, i.e. Transfer Path Analysis to support road, powertrain and simulator teams

- Undertake detailed correlation work in collaboration with CAE teams both internal and external to improve future models and simulations.
- Maintain the Modal lab workspace and ensure it is fit for use, and calibration compliant
- Support taskforce activities to solve complex engineering problems as required
- Maintain up to date method statements and processes for modal and systems testing

Skills:
- Experience within a modal testing environment and setup and use of impact hammer testing and shaker equipment
- Good understanding of NVH signal processing and analysis, especially modal, structural and transfer function analysis
- A methodical and detailed approach to planning, recording and executing high quality testing, and reporting
- Ability to effectively present and communicate complex NVH data
- Capable of working closely and collaboratively within a small team, inc. some coaching of apprentice colleague
- Ability to identify and propose continuous improvements and new methods of work
- Practical capability to carry out the basic fitting tasks necessary to set up and instrument tests, including ability to design new fixtures/rigs which can then be fabricated by the workshop teams.

Education:
- Degree or relevant equivalent experience

- Be an in-plant representative for the wind noise attribute, acting as a voice of the customer in the manufacturing environment.
- Detect where attribute performance could vary away from target (via objective measurement, subjective drive, static assessment/measurement, over checking build conformance to assembly process, etc.),
- Perform initial root cause investigation and drive issues through to resolution with the relevant responsible areas.
- Liaise closely with core aeroacoustics team to understand future products entering plant launch and their critical attribute characteristics as well as ongoing quality actions on current products.
- Flexibility to work across various sites (Warwickshire / Coventry / Solihull / Liverpool) as required.

Human Factors Engineer - £34/hr (Inside IR35) - Warwickshire/Hybrid potential - 8 Months (potential for yearly renewal)

Duties:
As modern vehicles evolve, our client’s customers are experiencing and interacting with vehicles in new and innovative ways. Our automotive client is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join their Human Factors Ergonomics team to deliver customer requirements for their future vehicles. This role is ideally suited to a skilled individual with a background in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Anthropometrics, Product Design or Design Engineering.

Key duties include, but not limited to
- Lead development of Human Factors requirements, in order to deliver the best customer experience. This will include collaboration with key stakeholders around the business including Engineering, Design, Programme, Commercial and many more
- Lead Human Factors input into the development of our future vehicles and brands - evoking empathy for the impact to the Human Factors Attribute of vehicle development decisions; using innovative and visual communication methods.
- Lead the timely completion of Human Factors assessments &/or gateway testing, to aid in issue resolution.
- Support collaboration with colleagues to resolve ergonomic related issues on vehicles; using customer data and Human Factors science to drive discussions.
- Analyse customer feedback relating to ergonomics and use it to support requirement development and issue resolution

Skills:
- Proven ability to work in a demanding environment and combine interpersonal skills with technical decision-making
- Ability to analyse technical data and customer feedback to support programme discussions & Ergonomics requirement development
- A knowledge of human physiology, anatomy or anthropometrics
- A good communicator with the ability to explain complex ideas to others.

Desirable
- CAD experience (e.g. CATIA / 3D Experience).
- Familiarity with Agile Methodology implementation and using JIRA
- Knowledge of whole vehicle engineering and working with teams across an organisation.
- Resilient and enthusiastic, an individual able to deliver results under pressure.

Education:
- Experience in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Anthropometrics, User-Centred Design, Product Design, User Experience Design or a related field, educated to degree level
