The Electronic Drive Unit (EDU) factory is the mechanism by which our client supplies the prototype units to the business for testing, to support the development of future commodities. The purpose of this role is to support the prototype manufacturing engineering team in the deployment of solutions to improve the capacity and quality of the line.

Position Description:
As an Automotive Crash Analyst you will play a pivotal role the delivery of customer vehicle performance. You will be responsible for using advanced CAE tools and techniques to analyse vehicle structural performance in both metallic and composite materials. The role will include the building of full vehicle FE models and subsystems, loadcase derivation, analysis set-up and execution and post-processing of results to generate design recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
You will perform finite element analysis (FEA) to assess the structural and mechanical safety performance of vehicle components, assemblies, and systems.
- Impact assessment of major automotive safety load case scenarios.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive PowerPoint reports and documentation of CAE analyses, results, and recommendations for design changes.
- Run and interrogate models and provide design direction to the senior Design Team
- Be able to use hand calculation to size structures and provide quick guidance
- Assemble pragmatic CAE models with rapid turnaround for design development
Skills & Experience Required:
• Practical knowledge of LS-Dyna software (essential).
• Practical knowledge of pre/post-processing software such as ANSA, HyperMesh, OASYS.
• Knowledge of European and Federal crash and safety legislation and consumer test requirements
• Experience of analysing test data and correlation to CAE results
• Development of data cards for metal and composite materials
• Hand calculations to support the FE analysis
• Experience of full product life-cycle activities and ability to achieve cost, weight and technical targets within specified timescales
• Clear and effective communication skills with internal and external clients

Qualifications:
