Automotive Durability CAE Engineer - Up to £35/hr (Inside IR35) - Warwickshire - 6 Months (potential to extend)

As an Automotive Durability CAE Engineer, you will play a pivotal role the delivery of customer vehicle performance. You will be responsible for using advanced CAE tools and techniques to simulate and analyse the performance of various vehicle components and systems under real-world operating conditions. Position Description:
As an Automotive Durability CAE Engineer, you will play a pivotal role the delivery of customer vehicle performance. Your insights and recommendations will directly influence the design and development of vehicle components and systems with regards to attribute performance and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
You will perform finite element analysis (FEA) to assess the structural and mechanical integrity of vehicle components, assemblies, and systems.
- Stress and Strain Analysis: Analyse stress and strain distributions in components to identify potential failure points and optimize designs accordingly.
- Vibration Analysis: Conduct vibration analysis to assess the response of vehicle structures to various road and operating conditions.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive PowerPoint reports and documentation of CAE analyses, results, and recommendations for design changes.
- Run and interrogate models and provide design direction to the senior Design Team
- Be able to use hand calculation to size structures and provide quick guidance
- Assemble pragmatic CAE models with rapid turnaround for design development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experienced in CAE softwares: Nastran / Optistruct, Genesis (NVH and Durability), Ansa as a pre-processor ideally
- Experience and knowledge of working within the Automotive industry
- Knowledge of composites would be useful, but not essential
- Knowledge of Ansa is very desirable
Additional Information:
This role is on a contract basis and is Inside IR35.
