Programme Cost Engineer - maternity cover
The Cost Engineering department is driven to deliver profitable growth to the business by providing robust cost information and expert direction to other operational functions, principally Engineering Finance and Purchasing. The key output of the Department is to provide relevant and robust `Should Cost' estimate analysis, relating to any part or assembly across the client's vehicle range. This crucial information is then used across the complete Product Development cycle, to support activities such as vehicle cost target setting, Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE), optimising Design and Supplier costs.

In the role of a Programme Cost Engineer you will provide support to the Vehicle Programme Team to enable delivery of the Piece Cost & VT cost targets, through
Analysis and comparison with other programmes,
Your extensive experience in overall cost drivers within Piece & VT costs
Organising and executing "ground up" & "back to target" cost workshops
Tapping into the experience within the Cost Engineering delivery team and securing support for your programme where necessary.
Providing clear direction between the Vehicle Programme Team and core Cost Engineering functions (and vis-versa)
Skills Required:
- Excellent Communication skills
- Automotive Engineering/Manufacturing background
- Have a good technical awareness at both the production process and cost driver level
- Project Management experience will also provide an advantage
Experience Preferred:
- Programme experience
- Prior Ford/JLR /Auto OEM / Auto supplier experience
Education Required:
Engineering Degree
Additional Information:
- Although primary location is Gaydon, Warwickshire, the role may require travel between all client sites (Coventry/ Castle Bromwich / Solihull / Halewood/Wolverhampton).
- This role has been deemed to fall INSIDE IR35.
