Job Purpose
Technical lead able to support development of systems and components for hybrid/electric vehicles.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
• Lead definition, development, sizing, functional requirements of next generation hybrid and electric powertrain systems
• Lead definition of powertrain architecture and cascade system targets to meet vehicle attributes
• Support Powertrain Managers as technical guidance on the system
• Support power pack sizing and trade-off studies for optimal attribute/cost balance together with Energy Storage System team leader
• Lead/Support milestones reviews of the System definitions, Requirements and Capability (assessment against the requirements)
• Develop robustness and failure mode analysis for new technologies
• Develop and present System trade-off studies to solicit direction from Management

•Work closely with Engine, Transmission, eMotor, Inverter, Controls and Chassis engineers to define a System meeting the requirements
• Develop actions addressing lessons learned from previous Programs
Qualifications and Experience
• MoS or PhD in Engineering or related field
• Experience gained within a system engineer role
• Demonstrated experience to work in cross-functional teams and driving product development issues to a resolution
• Extensive experience in automotive engineering (desirable)
• Knowledge of project life cycle management from early R&D to series production (desirable)
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, self-motivated, eager to take responsibility and deliver results with minimal supervision
• Understanding of Hybrid powertrains system functionalities and attributes at vehicle, system and component levels
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to organize multiple inputs into succinct summary and manageable discussion
• Passion for the advancement of hybrid and electrified vehicles technology (desirable)
• Highly organised person who is process driven and able to liaise with multiple individuals
Location: Wellesbourne
Due to the significant growth our client has experienced in recent years it now benefits from being a true multi-site organisation, and as such this role could be based at a number of sites, including Warwickshire, Wellesbourne and Milton Keynes
